Five STAR

The AMA believes that residents should be provided a safe place to live and raise a family. The Five STAR program offers extensive resources to make these goals possible with the added bonus of creating community building programs that extend beyond the apartment community itself.

The AMA offers low cost training programs that give managers, their team members and residents tools and resources to help keep crime off their property. With the focus of engaging everyone at the property the goal of opening up the community to its surrounding neighborhood programs is achieved!

Our Five STAR graduates are proud members of:

  • Raising a Reader
  • Graffiti and Blight Busters
  • Crime Free Multihousing
  • Weed and Seed Groups
  • Apartment Coalitions
  • And much, much more

The results speak for themselves; many managers have boasted increases in their lease- ups, stable retention rates and visibility in the community by key members of Law Enforcement, Community Agencies and many times local and even national media contacts.

To sign up for Five STAR, please call Lucina Chavez at the AMA at 602.296.6213.

Big Hearts for Little Hands

The dedicated members of the AMA have raised more than $500,000 to benefit families and children of UMOM and New Beginnings, Hope Cottage and Forgach House. The Arizona nonprofits serve families in their time of need.

Committee members have annually put on a Bowl-a-Thon, volunteer projects, educational and enrichment volunteer programs with children, teens and adults. These amazing networking programs allow AMA members to meet each other and raise funds for these charities.

Raising a Reader

With the support of First Things First and Southwest Human Development the Arizona Multihousing Association has introduced families of member rental properties to this unique early literacy program—the first of its kind in Arizona!

At no cost to participating properties, trained literacy instructors arrive with supplies and literacy techniques in tow, for parents of children ages 0-5 to enjoy and pass on to their children.

This program is growing and is high in demand among properties as many are seeing the wide range of benefits such as resident retention, marketing strategies and community resources from the very first session!

Project S.A.F.E

In 2002 property managers needed a program that would take their community to the next level of community outreach. The AMA utilized its visibility with the community and formed Project SAFE.

Hundreds of statewide managers and their teams have enjoyed Project SAFE resident events because of the reliability of speaker knowledge and access to information. Topics range from ID Theft to Personal and Fire Safety. Some properties have begun to branch out and cater to their additional residents such as pets and children which has made a huge impact on resident loyalty.

Because Project SAFE focuses on the education of the resident and the philosophy of the family unit, these events have always been very popular but with the ever changing policies being introduced they are becoming more and more necessary. This added value to a property has proven a win/win for managers and residents alike.

To sign up for Project SAFE, please call Lucina Chavez at the AMA at 602.296.6213.

Apartment Coalitions

Currently serving Maryvale, the West Valley area, Scottsdale and the Canyon Corridor (along I-17) AMA sponsored apartment coalitions are providing resources to meet the needs of apartment communities and their residents in specific neighborhoods valley wide.

Police departments located in coalition areas work in full partnership with the AMA to provide critical information to managers seeking solutions to a wide range of issues, or to present on issues lesser broadcasted, but no less important to our industry. In addition at each meeting the AMA offers regular updates on opportunities related to resident outreach programs, education and networking events particular to the apartment industry.

Meetings are scheduled monthly and topics rotate to provide the broadest spectrum of resources available to neighborhoods. Agencies and organizations invited derive from local, city, county, state and national level sources in order to deliver presentations and resources based quality and reliability.

For more information about a coalition in your area please contact Lucina Chavez, at (602) 296-6213.
